walking on air...
valentine's day with joe always leaves me feeling dreamy. he has a way of making me feel special. when he looks at me it's like i'm the only woman in the world - he makes me feel whole. after marinating in romance all day yesterday, today i am still feeling light, like i'm walking on air. thank you joe for loving me so completely.

wow! what a storm
on friday night it started snowing and didn't stop until saturday afternoon. we got almost 2 feet of snow - everything was closed because no one could get to work, it pretty much shut the whole city down.
being snowed in has been totally fun for me, it's made me giddy like a little kid. i have loved the feeling that nobody can go anywhere, there isn't any noise, no traffic, only people on foot. the feeling in our neighborhood was surreal - i really, really have loved it:). plus it has given us a few days off work and school which has been a very welcomed rest.
the view down our street, shady ave, we went on a walk to explore. we live on a pretty busy street where there is lots of city traffic and noise, so it was neat to see it totally deserted and silent. were able to walk down the middle of the road since there wasn't a car in site - it felt like a ghost town. i was loving it!
another view of shady ave - the tree in this picture is so weighted down by snow, it looks so cool. and i love the contrast of the yellow pedestrian sign against the gray sky and white snow in these two pictures - who am i ansel adams?!?:)
the episcopal church by our apartment...
later in the afternoon the sun came out so we went on another walk and tackled the job of digging out the car - go gett'em joe! (i did help a little).

standing knee deep in snow - what a trooper.
making progress - we got the door open.
thankfully the maintenance man pulled up while we were working on the car and let us borrow his shovel - who knew you still might need to own a shovel even if you live in an apartment?
finally uncovered.

we found this car that was completely buried, good thing the owner put the wind shield wipers up so they could find it.
